Somatic Healing & Coaching is a multimodal program, weaving together the practices that have been transformative along my way.

Somatic movement practices allow our consciousness to dance. Over time, our sense of the body shifts from a site of aesthetics and performance to home. We come into trust and intimacy with our bodies as we move our living architecture and all it houses: thoughts, sensations, images, fluids, memories, energies, etc. Somatic movement allows for returning home to the absolute honor, pleasure, and responsibility of being in a human body.

As the control center of our being, the nervous system plays a role in every aspect of our lives. Having no awareness of how the nervous system governs us and how to work with it is akin to being able to drive a car, but having no idea how to maintenance it. Knowing nervous system basics and tools for regulation gives us power and choice. When we tend to our inner physiology, we can change states of being at will - quickly becoming receptive, curious, centered, settled, clear, ready to be with life as it emerges.

Stressful events often cause deep muscular contractions in the body meant to protect us. When we don’t release this stored tension, it suppresses the flow of our life force energy. TRE® is an innovative series of exercises that allows us to access and reclaim our body's natural tension-taming abilities. Using our body’s innate process of therapeutic tremoring, we unravel patterns of contraction, chronic stress and emotional build-up, paving the way for inner peace and resilience.

Our bodies respond to the stress of everyday life in specific patterns. Clinical Somatics allows us to sense our unique holding patterns that keep us stuck in repetitive ways of feeling, moving, thinking, and acting. Then, we use specific movements to release the chronic muscular tension of these patterns at the level of the nervous system and create new ones.

In a world that bombards us with incessant bids for attention, being able to consciously choose where we place our attention is a super power. Embodiment practices return us to the NOW. They train our attention into the present-moment of our sensory experience, cultivating deeper awareness of the body - the vessel for spirit and soul.

When we spend time in our soma, we encounter not just what moves within us, but what and who moves through us. We begin having experiences that exist outside of our current paradigm. Spiritual Inquiry creates space for us to investigate the meaning of our experiences as we live them. For me, the more my notion of reality expands through lived experience + spiritual inquiry, the more I am humbled to all that I do not know. And in that posture of humility, the unknown becomes more of a space of reverence than fear.

Working at the level of the body to create multilayered change
The body is a living matrix of sensory perception. Consciousness is constantly communicating through our internal landscape and external environment, through the many fields we are embedded in.
As a somatic guide, the practices and tools that I share with you create the container and orientation for your body to do what it knows how to do – experience wholeness. Whatever the concern, the patterns will likely appear in the body, and can be worked with at the level of the body to create multilayered change.

The people who are typically a great fit for this work are those who have developed a level of self awareness, either through psychotherapy and/or other mind-body practices like yoga. They are often aware of specific issues that they haven’t been able to fully address, such as anxiety, stress, pain, self judgment - and/or issues that are ancestral or otherwise hard to touch. They are often seeking deeper levels of connection with themselves and with the natural world - a yearning to be more grounded in the present moment and in relationship with more than the individual self.

The first few sessions as a new client look different than what the ongoing healing & coaching sessions will look like. We start with an Assessment & Mapping session, a conversational discovery process that delves deep into your needs and goals. Then we’ll move into a few Somatic & Nervous System Education sessions. These sessions are more educational than experiential, and they are essential for laying the foundation for understanding the work and creating common language.
The ongoing healing & coaching sessions are more experiential and meet you where you’re at in growing somatic awareness and nervous system regulation. They will often include deeper body-based healing experiences using TRE and Somatic Movement to create somatic openings and release the grip of old patterns. I use my skills as a coach to help you process and understand what came up for you, and how it may relate to what is going on in your life. Between sessions, you’ll have practices that you can continue integrating into your daily life.
